DHL COMPANY PROFILE DLF was formed in 1969 in San Francisco by Adrian Dalsey, Larry Hillboom, and Robert Lynn. In 2002 DHL became a subsidiary of Deutsche Post and it s headquarter is the Bonn Germany. In early stage of its business it shipped papers from San Francisco to Honolulu by airplane. After a couple of years it started to expand its business to Southeast Asian countries. Followed by the these DHLââ¬â¢s market further expanded to Far East and African regions and finally to European countries. In 1986 DHL went in to a joint venture with the Peoples Republic of Chine and henceforth it became the pioneer of express delivery services in chine. A Worldwide transport network was constructed and now a days DHL not only provides not only air freight mail services but also by mean of sea and land services as well as construct logistics services. PURPOSE The aim of the thesis is to showcase the market excellence of DHL and the competitive advantage it has gained over its competitors through external and internal factors.
